This case study is unique not only for how the story unfolded, but also for its source, it was written by staff of the Department of Horse Breeding and Use at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, who observed Burza and the changes implemented on a daily basis. Below, we describe her journey from a gastric ulcer diagnosis, through treatment and changes in her management, to daily work supported by Hempqualizer+.

Burza, Malopolski mare, 11 years old
Problem description
For quite some time, the mare had shown clear discomfort during everyday grooming routines. Week by week, she became increasingly nervous during grooming, and ridden work grew progressively more difficult. Tension, lack of focus, and reluctance to cooperate began to appear. Following a gastroscopy, she was diagnosed with gastric ulcers.
In consultation with the vet, appropriate treatment was implemented alongside a series of changes: her diet was adjusted, supplementation supporting the digestive system was introduced, her management routine was changed, and the number of riders was limited to one person. After a few months, a follow-up examination showed a clear improvement in her health.
However, the mare's behaviour did not return to normal. The problem of excessive reactivity persisted.
