This was the everyday reality of Ironman, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding competing with @eryka_mikolajczyk: sensitive, ambitious, but overly tense and easily distracted in competition.

Ironman has been competing regularly in showjumping for several seasons. Despite his experience and solid training, his biggest challenge has always been competition stress. He is a very sensitive horse who is deeply affected by his surroundings and the atmosphere of rivalry.

Already in the warm-up, he became tense, looked nervously around, and reacted to every movement or sound from the stands. At times, he was wary of jumps, especially new or colorful obstacles. During courses, he often wasn’t fully focused on the rider, which led to mistakes and lack of rhythm.
