Scrappi’s story is an example of a dog with a strong, independent charactera mix of Shiba Inu and mixed breed, who inherited from his Shiba mother the typical independence, control, and reactivity. Close contact with humans was not his natural need, and for a long time, walks were a source of stress for both him and his owners. Attempts with various trainers, behavioral support, and even medication brought limited results.

The story from the owner’s perspective

I have two dogs. One is an angel, a bit fearful, but nothing dramatic. The other is a devil in a dog’s body. He is a Shiba Inu mix and, unfortunately for us, inherited many traits from his Shiba mother. He is an independent dog with a somewhat cat-like nature, not particularly dependent on humans for happiness, and not fond of petting or close physical contact. Scrappi, that’s our hero’s name, is now a different dog. A happier dog, wagging his tail and seeking human contact. We are amazed at how significant the change has been. On walks, I didn’t expect miracles because these behaviors are deeply ingrained. But I noticed that he now directs his attention to me more often instead of constantly looking for conflict with anything that moves. In difficult moments, when emotions shoot through the roof, even medication couldn’t help before, he now returns to “baseline” faster, calms down, and we can continue the walk in a relatively normal atmosphere.

We give him 0.3 ml once every two or three days, another advantage is the long-lasting effect. Administration is slightly challenging: he won’t take it in dry or wet food and won’t allow it directly into his mouth. It has to be hidden in ham or liver pâté, then it goes down perfectly.

I have also given it a few times to our second dog, Tolek, who is completely different, he walks nicely at heel, and his human is his greatest treasure; he is very calm. With Hempqualizer, he became even calmer, so I believe it may also be helpful during New Year’s Eve.
